“Label Boss of the acid tech house imprint, Slightly Sizzled Records, Co-Owner of the quirky and fun-spirited event companies, Space Taco & Space Brains, and 1/2 of the project ‘Weird & Word’–Kricked is a self-described ‘Acid Tech’ Producer & DJ who carries an impressive resume with already multiple number one releases on Beatport under his belt.
His first EP titled ‘Dysfunktional Family Funktion’ received support from the likes of Sacha Robotti, Andre Salmon, Papa Marlin & Redux Saints and hit #1 on Beatport for a stretch of 8 consecutive days. His groovy acid tech singles, ‘Sensible Trip’ & ‘Sketch Up’ hit #1 overall on Beatport as well – both were featured in Slightly Sizzled Records’ first-ever release ‘Hot Off The Grill, Vol. 1’, which showcased sizzlin’ tunes from the likes of Joey Avila, Sleepy & Boo and many more. Kricked’s tracks ‘Maniac’s Lullaby’ and ‘Loud Meow’, part of “Hot Off The Grill, Vol. 2”, the follow up compilation to the first monster success of Slightly Sizzled Records, have both charted at the top of the Beatport charts as well. Shortly after, Kricked released his premiere EP titled ‘Afterlife Afterparty’ and charted for the first time in the Top 100 Tech House Singles. Beatport featured Kricked’s track, ‘Monster Decoy’ in both their ‘Best Of Hype’ chart and in their ‘Top 10 Best Tech House Tracks Of October’ chart. The tune climbed the Top 100 Hype Tech House Singles up to #33, Kricked’s best to date.
But that’s not the only success Kricked has seen thus far, Slightly Sizzled Records (although still considered to be in its infancy) has had multiple release success stories despite its young age. Joey Avila’s top-charting single titled ‘Mr. Dynamite’ landed in the Top 10 Hype singles on Beatport for nearly two weeks. A week later, Stanley Kubrix’ EP titled ‘Good Technique’ sat in the Top 5 of Tech House for a solid period and then there is THE BURNS BROS EP, which featured tracks from SamBRNS, Burnsbeatz and an Eric Mark & Chef Boyarbeatz remix, which held a Top 10 position for over a week on the charts. Definitely keep an eye out for the sizzled kids, they bring with them a refreshing spunk filled vibe that exudes “fun, loving & ear-to-ear smiles”, absolutely contagious traits to say the least.
But back to the main man himself, Kricked wears a signature top hat (his own personal artistic creation) and is known for his twisted & highly danceable acid tech DJ sets as well as his top-quality studio production releases. Kricked has been in the DJ game for nearly a decade now, where he has performed at Southern California music festivals, top-level clubs (Exchange LA, Academy, Sound Nightclub, Focus OC) and is a consistent feature in Los Angeles prevalent underground house/techno warehouse party scene.
Kricked has performed out of state as well: at Oregon Eclipse festival in Oregon, at respected camps/art cars inside Burning Man, in the heart of the Las Vegas strip and he has also headlined large-scale shows in Philly.
Kricked may commonly feature fine dark velvet threads and seductive paisley ensembles, but don’t let that fool you…he is a big friendly bear that’s most importantly all about the fun. You should never feel intimidated by his tall stature or wild outfits as he’s truly a humble and appreciative fellow who is friendly and welcoming in nature.
A lot of the success of Slightly Sizzled and Kricked can be attributed to a good attitude. He is grateful to be making music for a living and knows that the reason people go to parties is to dance their ass off and have fun. Catch him playing around Southern California at festivals, clubs or best yet, at one of his Slightly Sizzled events in Los Angeles.
